Basic Scone Recipe and the Star Tours II grand opening
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup milk (can use buttermilk too)
Directions
Mix the dry ingredients together in a medium bowl
Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles course crumbs
Stir in beaten egg
If you wish, you can add nuts, dried fruit, chocolate chips, cheese, etc. at this point
Gradually add milk until a thick dough formed
Turn out the mixture onto a floured board and knead lightly
Roll out dough to a 3/4" thickness
Cut into 2" rounds
Place the rounds about 1" apart on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Brush the tops with egg or milk
Bake at 450° until golden brown (10 to 15 mins)
