Ingredients
- 1 c. butter softened
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. flour
- jam to fill thumbprints
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325º and line baking sheets with parchment
- In medium bowl cream butter and sugar
- Mix in egg, vanilla, baking powder, and salt
- Mix in flour 1/2 cup at a time
- Roll dough into 1” balls and place 2 inches apart on baking sheet
- Press a thumbprint into center of each ball, 1/2 deep, and fill with a little jam
- Bake 12 to 13 minutes (edges a little brown)
